WELCOME TO NINE

LET’S TALK BASEBALL!

NINE is a community of scholars, fans, and storytellers united by a deep affection for baseball’s cultural significance. We research, promote, and celebrate the rich history and enduring impact of the game.

We cherish this interdisciplinary approach to the study of baseball. Over the past decade, our authors and presenters have published books on a wide variety of baseball topics. To see selected titles, visit our Publications page.

While not officially associated with the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR), our journal and academic conferences tend to feature works by SABR members. The NINE Spring Training Conference culminates with the presentation of the SABR Seymour Medal, awarded annually to the writer of the “Best book of baseball history or biography.” To learn more, visit sabr.org.
